Introduction of the Pittaway Cup tournament.
At the time of its introduction, the WDCL minutes record "The Royal British Legion Club (at the suggestion of the Chess section) presented a cup to be called the Pittaway Cup in aknowledgement of the work done by Ken Pittaway for chess."
