League Involvement

Stafford have been involved in the Wolverhampton League since 1947.  They have been continuously involved in the Cannock League since 2000.

In the Wolverhampton League, from 1947 to 1951 they played as Stafford Chess Club.  In 1961-2 and again in 1963-5 they reapeared with the name English Electric (Stafford).  In 1965 that name was changed to Stafford Chess Council.  Since 1971, they have been known by their current name.
