Trying to find something on this website but don't know where to start.  This page is intended to be an easy to use guide to what's where and how everything fits together.  It should help you find what you're after.

Staffordshire Chess website
Unlike most other websites, this one has two parts.

  • Staffordshire Chess Website
    • General Chess - This is where you are now.  Information and details of events for chess players of any age.  (The remainder of this page deals with what is in this part of the site).
    • Junior Chess - The Junior Chess part of the website provides information and details of events that may be of particular interest for any players aged under 18.  Clicking Junior chess at the top of any of these pages takes you to the junior part of the website.  (The junior part of the site has its own site map.)

General News
A section with a number of popular pages all grouped together.

Clubs
A guide to all the clubs in this area.  Where they meet and who to contact for more details.

  • Clubs - Contact details for local clubs
    • National honours - Local clubs who have enjoyed success in national competitions

Junior chess
A link to the junior part of the website.  It takes you directly to the Junior news page.  For anything that might be of particular interest to any players aged under 18.

Inter-county
Information on Staffordshire's Inter-County teams.

Congresses
A guide to congresses in this area.  When and where they are held, how they are organised and who to contact for more details.

League
Information on chess leagues that have connections with Staffordshire.  How they are organised, which clubs are involved etc and end-of-season league tables and event winners etc.

Tournament
A guide to the county cup tournaments (Hickman, Gothard, Jackson and Withnall trophies.  Competition rules, past winners and past results etc.

    • Board count - An example of how board count is used to decide the winner when a team match finishes as a draw.
