Shifnal & Telford have been continuously involved in the Wolverhampton League since 1972.
From 1972 to 1975, they competed under the name of Sutton Hill Chess Club.
In 1975 they changed their name to Telford Chess Club , and in 2000 amalgamated with Shifnal to become Shifnal & Telford Chess Club.
