John Day is already well known to Inter-County players, and those who play chess to the north of the county.  Last year, he made made his debut as captain of the U125 team.  Since then, the ECF have revised the grades of all players, so player who were graded around 120 last year, might now find themselves with a grade of around 135.  Because of that revision, the grading limit for the team has been raised to U140 this season.
