Staffordshire "Club of the Year" 2006.
Club secretary Peter Tideswell looked totally surprised at the presentation in June, when it was announced that Fenton had been awarded the trophy this year.

Amongst other things, Fenton were nominated because they are a growing and popular club, where you will always receive a warm welcome.

Congratulations to Fenton, and well done to everyone involved with the club.

League Involvement

Fenton have been continuously involved in the League run by the North Staffs and District Chess Association since 1994/5.

From 1994/5 to 2002/3 they were known as Angel Inn Chess Club.  In 2002/3, they changed venue, and became Foley Chess Club (Playing in the Foley Arms).  Since their 2004 venue change, they have been known as Fenton Chess Club.
