Chess in the pub

FREE CHESS LECTURES
by
IM.  ROBERT BELLIN

CORE TIME:
The core time will be from 7-9pm with each session consisting of two talks of 30-45 minutes with a 20-30 minute break in between, so for example:

The first talk will run from 7 to 7:30/ 7:45pm.  This will be followed by a 20-30 minute break for refreshment and discussion.  The second talk will then start around 8pm.

The official lectures and any discussion will end by 9pm but Robert Bellin will remain for an hour or so afterwards and will be available for further relaxed chess-based conversation.

THE LECTURES:
These will be based around the enjoyment and appreciation of chess rather than seeking improvement in one's play, but naturally much of value for the latter automatically arises from the former.  The topics will be an eclectic mix stemming from Robert Bellin's wide-ranging enthusiasms with a likely leaning towards the classical and historical.  The talks will be verbally descriptive rather than analytical and therefore suitable for all levels.

Given the venue and likely subject matter the lectures will be more suited to adults although youngsters accompanied by adults are permitted to attend.

DEMO BOARD / CHESS SETS:
The lectures will be given using a large demonstration board.

There will only be one chess set available on site for possible use later on but you are welcome to bring your own if you would like to play with your friends or fellow attendees after the lectures.
