British Blitz Tournament 2006
British Blitz report Held at the venue of Stafford Chess Club on 26 March, 2006.

IM Simon Williams is the new 2006 British Blitz champion scoring a very impressive 14/16 finishing 1½ points ahead of 2nd placed Grandmaster Daniel Gormally and 2 points ahead of 3rd placed Ameet Ghasi. Heather Richards narrowly won the British Ladies ½ a point ahead of Alexandra Wilson who had lead going into the last round before losing to Grandmaster Keith Arkell allowing Heather to overtake her.
The U18 prize was shared between brother and sister Akash Jain & Radha Jain.
My thanks to co-organiser Ljubica Lazarevic, Arbiter David Welsh, my parents for providing the catering and to everyone else who helped out during the day and of course to the players for making the tournament so enjoyable.
